In the grand tradition of using my journal as a notepad: Stuff I have going on this week. For some reason writing it down on paper isn't helping me keep it straight.

Monday: Judo
Tuesday: Eurovision
Wednesday: Judo
Thursday: Eurovision
Friday: ???
Saturday: (judo?) Eurovision
Sunday: Writing with Kanadka, post that fic I have drafted
Monday (stat): ??? ... Relax??
yuuago: (Movies - TGWTDT - Scrolling)
...Provided I can find the time:

+ Play Delectatio Morosa* - I downloaded it and got it to run, so it's just a matter of fitting it in somewhere
+ And rewatch Conclave while I'm at it, yeah. Might need to wait a while tho', there's several holds at the library.
+ ...And maybe make some icons while I'm at it, even if I might not use them.
+ Finish and post some fics. I have a few that're close to completion, hooray.
+ Make an awesome broccoli and tofu recipe that I came across in a book recently
+ Relax a little. Chill out. Man, I am so bad at that. :V

Aaand now here's a to-do list for the upcoming year!
Resolutions 2025 )
yuuago: (Norway - Cold)
The resolution is to read 50 books this year. I've divided them up into categories/sub-goals.
Reading list 2023 )

Resolutions for 2023. More of a to-do list than anything. Trying to keep it brief and realistic!

Resolutions 2023 )
yuuago: (Norway - Breeze)
Resolutions for 2022. As usual, I'm going to try to keep my goals minimal and realistic. :D Everything on here is stuff that I would be doing anyway, so having a list helps me stay a bit more organized.

Resolutions for 2022 )
yuuago: (NorIce - Rest)
A non-exhaustive list of things I want to do when the pandemic is over:

+ Get a massage (Gdi I really could use one ;;; some days it's all I can think about, haaa.)
+ Get a pedicure
+ BUY SOME NEW CLOTHES goddamn. A lot of my stuff is just worn out, or doesn't fit... I'm definitely going to need some new bluejeans.
+ Geocaching-centric trip to a city I've already travelled to (Victoria? Halifax? ...Ottawa?)
+ Martial arts lessons
+ Get my first aid certification??? (Since the last few time work tried to arrange for us to do it as a group, it didn't work out)
+ Go to the movie theatre?

And probably a million things that I'm not thinking of right now.

Obviously, we're nowhere close to being over with this yet. I understand that. I know I'll have to wait a lot longer. But man, am I ever sick of this, so it's nice to think about what I might do... later.

Someone recced the drama Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty (thread) and not going to lie, that looks like something I'd be into. Historical setting + mystery investigation = yes!!! Doubly so if there are cool costumes, like in this case.

I see that it's available on Viki. I'll have to see if I can find time to watch it. There are 48 episodes, so while it's quite an investment, it's still not as much as NiF or ROP.

[Edit] Found another rec here. I really should check it out....

☆ FTH and the Fandom For Australia auctions are both complete. Whoo! I can hardly wait for the people I'm writing for to get back to me... I'm so excited to start working on things for them, but I need to know what they want first. :D

☆ I'm really curious about what the final donation amounts will be for both FFOz and FTH. I was outbid on several of my FTH bids, so in a way I'm kind of glad that FFOz was running at the same time, because I was able to pick up a few there instead (beta readings - I wanted to make sure I'd have someone to help me proofread the stories I'm writing for my winners!). I really hope that FTH will raise over $27,000 this year - that would bring its four-year total up to $100K, and that would be just amazing. Guess we'll have to see!

☆ Promare is continuing to devour my brain. I JUST... CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT IT. When I have the time, I'm going to have to binge Ao3 for stuff with worldbuilding focus. And postcanon stuff too. And Lio/Galo, of course, of course. (Anybody got any recs?)

☆ I seriously wonder how many people hit up Etsy and bought black triangle earrings after watching that movie. I might have done so myself. Couldn't help it, Lio is just so stylish - ...I also might also have taken to wearing bonfire-scented cologne lately. Some kind of wannabe Mad Burnish over here. NERD FACTOR TURNED UP TO ELEVEN. It's terrible. Ah, well, this might be a flavour of the month, but it could be far worse. ;)

☆ What is the reading equivalent of having eyes bigger than one's stomach? Whatever it is, I currently am that. Took home quite a stack from the library today. Now I have to read all of these books. Oh no... How terrible... whatever am I going to do? ;) ;)

☆ I wish the wind would quit it already. Today would have been pretty mild if not for the wind bringing things down to -18C. Screw you, wind! Get out of here.

☆ Going to slap some to-do down here. Just the fun things.

There are so many series that I want to watch/rewatch some time soon - "some time soon" meaning "in the next few months or so, I guess".

Rewatches:
+ Vatican Miracle Examiner - I marathoned this while tipsy last New Years and I'm really due for another go. Maybe I'll get some new fic ideas? :D This series sure is a wild ride, though.
+ Yuri on Ice - I think it might do me good to go through this one again. It's such a light and happy show. Plus, I'm kind of in a ~figure skating~ mood, lately.
+ Anno 1790 - I've watched this series through at least three times but... it's been a while, I'm due to give it a go again. Love the characters, love the setting, I just really like this series a whole lot. Though I guess I should see if I can find any other Scandinavian historical dramas that I'll like just as much; I'm sure there are some out there.
+ Nirvana in Fire - 54 episodes is A Lot to go through, buuuut it'd be worth it, considering the series is so good and I notice new things every time I go through it. Plus, well - it's visually stunning (excluding a few silly CGI bits).

Didn't finish, want to complete:
+ Rose of Versailles - A classic! What happened here was that I started watching it, but then lost access after it was removed from the service I was using to stream it. So, I bought the discs, but haven't had time to get around to it.
+ The Terror - I was so excited for this series, since I'm a nerd for the Franklin expedition and a sucker for anything set in the arctic, but I somehow never got around to watching the damn thing. I have the episodes purchased, but they're only watchable on a device I don't usually use (my main computer can't run them), so that's a big reason why I haven't seen it yet. But I'll watch it! Eventually! [WATCHED Jan 16 2019]
+ Di Wang Gong Lue - I'm pretty sure I never got around to watching the last episode of this. What the heck?

Haven't seen yet:
+ The Haunting of Hill House series - Heard mixed reviews about this one. I'm curious! [WATCHED as of Dec 15/2018]
+ Fortitude - Crime series set in the arctic? Okay, yeah, I'm there. :D [WATCHED as of Dec 24/2018]
+ The Rain - Post-apocalyptic Scandinavia? Sounds good to me! I've heard some people mention that it reminds them of prologue-era SSSS.
+ Rise of Phoenixes - Chinese costume drama; I don't really know anything else about it. My mom was glued to the screen for this one, and while we don't always share taste, the way she couldn't stop watching it reminded me of how I reacted to NiF. Worth a try, maybe? (Or perhaps I'll just enjoy some eye candy.)
+ The Exorcist series - Well, I like the film, and I keep hearing that the series is pretty damn good. I'll give it a go eventually! [WATCHED as of Feb 24/2019]

Wow, that's a lot. Likelihood that I'll get around to covering all of this is small. However, considering how much knitting I plan to be doing, maybe I'll watch more than I usually would. It's easier for me to watch things when I have something to do with my hands, otherwise I get so bored, even if the story is engaging.

Apparently DW = post-its. Well, why not keep a proper record of my ongoing stuff?

Eugh, today is... off to a mediocre start. Lovely.

Can I get a do-over?

...Okay. You know what. I figure, as long as I do the basic chores, I'll consider it a win. No need to actually, like. Do stuff today. Goddamn.
