Jeg ryddet opp skrivebordet mitt i går. Jeg puttet papiret i gjenbrukekassen og organisette den diverse innholdene i skuffene. Nå notisbokene og kunstartikler er stakket vertikalig. Skrivebordet mitt er veldig renslig og rydde. Jeg er tilfredsstillet med det.


English version:

I tidied up my desk yesterday. I put the paper in the recycle bin and organized the various contents in the drawers. Now the notebooks and art supplies are stacked vertically. My desk is very clean and tidy. I am satisfied with that.

Not quite sure how correct the NO version is, since I had to look up a lot of things, but ehhhh at least an attempt was made.

IN other words, I finished the konmari job in my desk. For the time being, anyway. My ex's drawings are dumped in the recycling along with certain early fanfiction that will never see the light of day. ;p Not sure what to do with the folders of my own artwork, but since they don't take up much space, I'm content to let them sit in the bottom drawer for now.

I keep opening the drawers and looking into them, all amazed at how tidy they are, haha. xD We had a few sandwich-sized tupperware containers that lost their lids, so I've appropriated them for my desk - they turned out to be the perfect size for my miscellaneous cords and chargers and SD cards.

And now that I've found my pencil crayons I kind of feel like drawing... or at least colouring, since I came across some colouring books too. Maybe that'll be a nice way to turn my brain off. ;)

ooh nice on the tidying! having a cleaner space does make it feel easier to be creative, doesn't it? :D

YESSS. Both for peace of mine and... like... it's much easier to be creative when you Know where everything related to that is. ;p

Well done, Yuu! A very good attempt, and through help of internet. It is definitely understandable, but as you suspected it is not quite correct norwegian, even if it gets the meaning through very well.

Please ignore the following attempt at typo and grammar correction if it is not wanted (it will by stuffed with english typos and grammar mistakes, I'm afraid):

Jeg ryddet skrivebordet i går. Jeg la papiret i papirsøpla og organiserte innholdet i skuffene. Nå er notisbøkene og tegneutstyret/kunstmateriellet stilt opp loddrett. Skrivebordet mitt er veldig rent og ryddig. Jeg er fornøyd med det.

Norwegian prepositions will kill you because they Are Not Logical (or the logic is hard to spot). In this case, "rydde" is better than "rydde opp". "Rydde opp" is something you do to rooms, or to clutter: Jeg ryddet opp på kjøkkenet" or "Du må rydde opp i dette rotet".

"legge" is preferable to "putte" since "putte" indicates placing something inside something else, like stuffing things into your bag). You could also very well use "kaste", if the act of placing the paper in the recycling bin is not as important as the fact that you got rid of it. So an alternate way for that sentence could be "jeg kastet papiret til gjenvinning"

Any Norwegian would understand "gjenbrukekassen" but it isn't actually a word in use. I mostly use "papirsøpla", but that is sort of . "Kildesortering" is the of sorting of the garbage. "Gjenvinning" is recycling.

"Stakket" is not a Norwegian word, I think you might be looking for stablet, buuut that word in itself means to stack horizontally, so I think stilt up feels more idiomatic.

Renslig=cleanly. More commonly used for when the puppy has learned to do it's business outside instead of on the carpet. Rent=clean.

You could use "tilfreds" as well, but "tilfredsstilt" means more that someone else have made you so, like gratified, I think.

Prepositions are THE DEVIL and no matter how many times I read through my grammarbook they don't stick. xD But anyway.

Definitely sounds like "kaste" in this case is the best word for the job, since the focus is on the fact that it's trash being taken out. :V

Aha, with the recycle bin we run into the problem I have sometimes, where the word I'm looking for wasn't actually in my dictionary. xD So thanks for those suggestions.
