yuuagoToday was pretty good. One of those days when nothing particularly out of the ordinary happens, but at the same time everything (well, almost everything) seems to go right. Feels good, man.
I have an interview on Monday. It's for a job that is technically already nailed down, after the phone interview I had for it, but only technically. Still need to do a face-to-face for it, just so that they'll know I'm not some kind of wingnut. But as the phone-interviewer told me, I practically have it.
I'm kind of nervous, though. This is a job with a capital J, if you know what I mean. On the one hand, fucking finally! If I get it, I'll finally have a real, long-term job. On the other hand, expectations are scary. I mean, what if I'm not good at it? Argh. ... Well. We'll see.
It's frustrating, though. My entire life, I told myself, "I'll move out of this city as soon as I can, and I refuse to get stuck working in the oil industry". And here I am at 25, still stuck in this shithole of a northern town, potentially working in the motherfucking oil industry, and if the job goes through, it'll be for an extended period of time. On the other hand, I don't have any better ideas, nor any other opportunities, and the pay - well, nobody would turn their nose up at that hourly rate, let's put it that way.
Ugh. Well, at least if I manage, I'll have the funds to go on an awesome vacation much sooner than I originally planned. :Vb
...Anyway.
With regards to writing, I kind've ran out of steam halfway through November, and didn't really recover from that. On the other hand, I got a lot done, and I have a lot to work with. I still have a long story that's not quite finished, so if I can hammer that down, that'll be good. (If I land this job, there'll be an hour-long bus ride to and from the site every day, so at least I'll have plenty of time for writing. Whether or not I will be awake enough for that is questionable, though).
Still haven't decided if I'll ever post the damn thing, though. It won't fit any kink meme prompts, it's inspired by a cracktastic roleplay plot, and it is basically idfic. Bluh. ... The other two stories are all right, though. I'll get around to editing them eventually, I suppose.
And now, to go do some indexing....
