Nothing, nothing, nothing ❆ ❆ ❆

Holy shit, it's nice and mild outside. This calls for celebration, guys.
Anyway, just a few points -
❆ First week of work is officially over. Conclusion? I like it. It's physically demanding, but that's part of what I liked about it. I've missed that kind of thing. And it's nice to not have to get dressed all formally for work - that's something I hated about my other job, ugh. So yeah, I'm pretty happy with it.
❆ I have neither read nor studied in ages ("ages" meaning something more like "a week") and I feel guilty about it. Alas, I am a slacker. Someone hit me over the head, please! At least with regards to the studying. I'm never going to learn more words if I don't go through my flashcards for at least five minutes every day, I know it. I'm able to recall a few so far, but I don't know much more than I did when I originally started. When I start something new, I usually see lots of small progresses right away, if I keep at it. But I haven't been keeping up with my Finnish, and... yeah. Man, I do feel so lazy.
❆ Writing is going... slowly. However, "slowly" is better than nothing at all. I've been bringing my notebook to work and scribbling a bit during break, so I've been making some progress. Mind you, I only get about a paragraph done every day, but that is way better than nothing. At my previous job, I hardly wrote at all. So, this is a nice change. With the slow pace, I can't tell when that one fic will be done, but we'll see. I do feel better about it now that I'm actually getting some work done, though. And after I finish this thing, I'll definitely start on something else -- maybe that thing with England and Norway and speaking medieval Latin, if I can find some suitable material to work with.
❆ I've started writing some Eerie fic as well, and have also begun plotting out a second, longer story. At this point I'm still kind of flailing around, trying to figure out what I want to do. I want to do fanwork but getting ideas for this series is much more difficult than it is for APH, especially since I want to write stuff that's in keeping with the usual style/subject matter of the show, and - as I've mentioned previously - writing that kind of thing is challenging for me. Nailing down characterization is difficult too, but I'll figure something out. ...To be honest, a part of me wants to write essays related to this series too. I don't miss writing essays for university courses (certainly not) but there's just... something about this series that makes me want to look through it on a different level than I usually do. I think it's because Eerie has lot of qualities that I usually associate more with children's literature than children's television. But I might talk about that more at another time.
❆ INDEXING. Man. I feel guilty because I haven't updated in ages (again, "ages" means like, a week). But you know, when I get home from work, so far I've been so tired that the last thing I want to do is update indexes, ahhhh. Well, I will be sure to do some today, and I'm certain that when I adjust to my new job more then I will be able to update more... But it's just, well. It's a little bit embarrassing, actually, because I'm usually pretty good at keeping on top of things. And I'd intended to finish transferring the Baltdex over from the text version to Delicious by February, but it looks like that won't happen. ... well, maybe by the end of February, if I'm extra vigilant. We'll see. EDIT: Okay, both the Baltdex and Nordex are updated. Finally. Ugh. :T
... I'd intended this entry to be short. What the hell happened?
