The last few days have been so much suck.

I lost my job, my brother's work vehicle had a collision with a moose, I'm coming down with a cold, etc. Grumble grumble sob.

I'm trying to look at it positively. That job was just supposed to be temporary, anyway. My brother is going to be perfectly okay; he's just very bruised (though the same thing can't be said about the moose - or the vehicle for that matter). And this headcold or whatever it is that's bugging me won't last very long.

But man, do I ever feel shitty. Kind of hard to keep a positive outlook that way.

Team Canada's loss against Russia in the gold medal hockey match this evening was the absolute icing on the cake. Okay, okay, it's just a hockey game, but... man. I'm really bummed out. We were winning 3-0 at first, what the hell happened? (Answer: the Russian team woke up right at the same moment that our goalie decided to go to sleep, or something.) ... Well. Congratulations to Russia, anyway. You kicked our ass, but we'll get you next time.

So... yeah. Not in the best of moods. And that's partly why I haven't been as, uh, social as I normally would be, not this week. I haven't been replying to entries that I normally would reply to, even people that I always always always try to comment to, ugh. Feels bad, man. But I'm just not up to it.

That reminds me of something I was thinking about earlier today - how do y'all feel about receiving comments on entries a little bit late? Two, three, four days late? I know some people find it weird. Me, I don't mind, but eh. Never hurts to know, I guess.

... Anyway. I certainly hope the rest of the week will not be like this. :|

There was always SOMETHING going on at the school... Our glbt group was very active and connected with a lot of organizations in the nearest large city so we were always doing something.
... And then, there was a different kind of protesting, when the university faculty went on strike. :Va That was a clusterfuck, but interesting. And fun.

Aw man, I went to bed because I was sure Canada was going to win, no problem. Should've known better. Well, even if they lost it must have been an interesting 3rd period. orz

Anyway, I hope you feel better soon. 2011's not looking so hot for anyone so far.

And I don't care when I receive comments. ...Okay, maybe two or three weeks after the fact would be a little weird, but whatever. I can be pretty late replying too my friends' entries too.

Lesson learned: NEVER be confident that so-and-so is going to win, because the moment you go to sleep is the moment things will turn around.
The 3rd period was awful, man. One "WHAT THE SHIT HOW DID THAT HAPPEN" after the other. orz. SO DISAPPOINT. ... Well, at least the Russians seemed to be happy about it. WE'LL GET THEM NEXT TIME

I'm kind of hoping that 2011 is getting all of its suck over with now, so that the rest of the year will be smooth sailing. Unlikely, but one can dream.

And that's Good To Know. I doubt I would ever be two weeks late, but yeahhhhh. Pfft.

I never learn. Hell, Finland did the same thing to Sweden back in November, but I guess I just wasn't expecting Russia to do the same. Oh well, it happens. Don't be too disappointed, there'll be other games.

Mm, maybe it's not getting all of it's suck over now, but things can only go so wrong before they turn around. One can't go much lower than rock bottom after all.

Yeah, sometimes I worry about that too-- but I've noticed that if you start moaning then other people tend to tune in and moan about their problems too. So in order words, we get a moanfest! ... no wait, nevermind. Just ignore me. Please. What I just said was disturbing. XD

It's such a relief that he'll be fine... and lucky, too, considering what usually happens when someone hits a moose (urgh...)

"Natural and fair" -- I like this philosophy \o/ I'll keep it in mind.
Come to think of it, it's strange how comments/entries/etc on LJ seem to have a shorter "shelf-life" than in other places. Other sites, it isn't uncommon for comments to appear several days after something is posted... but LJ, being even a day late is uncommon :Va I'm not sure why it is.

Yes, it's a bit surprising for me too. Comparing LJ with several other blogging sites I know I've noticed that in average people post less often here. So it'd make sense if comment logs lasted a long time (no distractions in form of multiple newer posts, etc.). But no.
