This entry is going to be boring.
Aug. 21st, 2009 03:47 pmI woke up this morning feeling not quite right. I got a lot of rest, which is good, but even so I didn't feel quite right. Oh, well. After meditating on that feeling a while, I've decided that I don't understand it, nor do I need to. Having come to that conclusion, I went and made breakfast and coffee and tried to rid myself of the lethargy. Talking with some people, and receiving a response from tl;dr anon, put me in a slightly better mood (or maybe that was the coffee).
In the early afternoon I headed out. I had to go downtown to take care of some bank-related things. It was beastly hot out, even though it was only 2 PM or so, so I took the bus. Normally I wouldn't bother, but... man, was it ever hot. Anyway, that whole thing is taken care of. I stopped in at Lush for some new bubble bath, so I suppose I will do that tonight.
I walked home, because by that time the sun had clouds over it and it wasn't as hot as it had been before. Not too bad, and there was a breeze, so even though I was wearing full coverage today it wasn't bad. (I prefer to stay covered up at all times... long pants, long sleeves most of the time. I'd probably even wear gloves if they weren't so cumbersome).
When I was passing over the bridge, I stopped to look down at the rocks by the river, where people tend to do a lot of graffiti. I noticed that many of the old ones had received colour touch-ups, and that some had things added to them, and that there were new ones as well, very brightly-coloured. Much to my surprise, among the usual flowers and peace signs and so on, someone had painted the Swedish flag on one of the rocks. Very unexpected, that; not many Swedes around here. There was some writing accompanying it, but I couldn't read it from my location.
I think if tomorrow is bright, I'll go down with my camera. I had intended to take photos of the new graffiti underneath the bridge; might as well shoot the rock graffiti as well. I really like just looking at it, taking pictures of it. I think it's because graffiti says so much about the person who scribbled it, as well as the general atmosphere of the area of the city in which it was made.
So, now I'm sitting here at the cafe as per usual. Thinking that I'm going to have to vacuum tonight. Going to try to finish Life of Pi tonight as well. I read some of it on the bus. Pretty close to being finished. Good.
UGH. I FEEL SO LACKLUSTRE ABOUT EVERYTHING TODAY. What is wrong with me? Argh.
[edit] EEEEE!
... I suddenly feel a whole lot better. 8D

Date: 2009-08-21 10:49 pm (UTC)I wish the scribblings around here looked as nice as these sound... mostly hastily written street names on street signs... :\

Date: 2009-08-21 11:01 pm (UTC)Ahh - the stuff in your town sounds much like what I've encountered in other places I've lived. But here, the scribblings are so nice! Flowers and stars and so on. Once I even came across a painting someone did of a duck on a lake. And sometimes there are inspirational messages. I live in a very hippy-ish part of town, which is probably the reason for this.

You mean the thing that improved my mood? ... Oh. Er. Someone showed up and started RPing with me, randomly. And then I read some of Kainoliero's fic that I'd had on the backburner (had it bookmarked for ages but haven't had time to read, sob) so now I'm just... really happy.
