Judo adventures 4.52
May. 6th, 2026 11:25 pmAttending: Me, Mo, Ver, C, Ma & Jo & Ge. TN-sensei and Ry-sensei instructing.
I partnered with Ge today because that's how things shook out.
We worked on osoto-gari first. Then we worked on the left handed variant.
After that he showed us some variations for "tackle" throws - that you can do ouchi-gari by gripping forcefully over the shoulder and under the arm, around the back, and using the momentum from the movement to propel you forward.
He also showed us an exercise for doing ura-nage - basically you go forward on your right, knee bent, arms going around your opponent. Then the left foot comes in as you straighten, and lift them up. Then your left foot steps around and you haul them with you. If you are doing the throw, you can throw them, but you can also do this just for practice.
T-sensei is going to be teaching a class next week, I think, because TN-sensei is away at nationals.
