Judo adventures 4.49
Apr. 27th, 2026 11:04 pmAttending: Me, M1, C, Eth, Ed, Br, G, Ma & Jo & Ge, AJ. TN-sensei and Ry-sensei instructing.
Partnered with AJ for the uchikomi etc.
For the lesson, TN-sensei showed us a clip from a recent Japanese competition. It was someone winning with, I believe, ashi-guruma. He noted that having a high grip, with wrist pressing against the neck, helped control the opponent and pull him down. Then pulling aside provided an opportunity to move in to the throw. (I'm not expaining it very well).
And then it was throw practice. I worked with AJ again. After a bit we worked on our breakfalls too, since he's still not sure about that.
It was a good class. Looking forward to the next one. Not sure if we're doing kata on Saturday.
