Judo adventures 4.38

Attending: Me, C, Eth, Ed, and one of the younger kids (Bry, I think). TN-sensei and T-sensei instructing.

Haven't seen T-sensei in a while. It was nice to see him. I partnered with him this class because it was odd numbers.

Today was all groundwork.

We did a turnover into a triangle hold down. Procedure:
Stand with your right foot slightly back, your stance wide. Opponent in turtle.

Grab their collar with your right hand, and their belt with your left. Pull them forward to make space, and put your left foot between their arm and knee to hold them. Apply pressure.

Grasp their elbow with your right hand and sit down/roll toward your left.

This will put you in a position to get them in a triangle hold with your legs. Depending on things like flexibility, you might be able to choke them out from there. You can grab their arm to hold it in place. Also, grab their foot with your left hand; they won't be getting out of that.

It was a good class. I'm not crazy about groundwork, but it was fun.
TN-sensei says we might do some weekend kata classes at one point, so I will try to make it to them if I get advance notice that it will be happening.
