Started off with uchikomi. Partnered with Eth. These days, uchikomi is my favourite part of class. I really appreciate that TN-sensei has us do it most of the time, because it's a good workout and a good way to practice.
After that, TN-sensei introduced a concept - single-handed throws. Basically, you use only a sleeve grip on the left hand; you use the right hand to press your forearm to the joint, almost like a chop, to provide leverage to throw.
We did osoto-gari and tai-otoshi. For the osoto-gari, you need to step further out than usual. You also need to press your shoulder against your opponent's shoulder.
For the tai-otoshi, you first grab your opponent's left lapel with your left hand. This is basically a fake-out, as they will grab your sleeve instinctively. You then let go of the lapel and grab their sleeve on your left side. You then step deep to the right with your right foot, press your forearm into the joint, and then turn to do the tai-otoshi. You need to keep the arm up high through this, and when you do the turn you need to go very low (typical for tai-otoshi).
Partnered with M1 and Si for the throws. It was challenging due to size. But also I think I just need practice.
