Judo adventures 4.16

Attending: Me, M1, Ma & Jo, Mo, G, Ge, Ver who is from one of the younger classes. TN-sensei, Ry-sensei, and J-sensei instructing.

We worked on some grip techniques. One is that if you are pulled down with a grip to the back of the collar, you can push with your head to get them out of the way, and then grab the "picket" of fabric by the chest with your left hand. This you can then use to push the opponent further away, and twist, and then get into a position to throw.

We also did another one where, at the same time, you grab the right side of the gi (low, above the belt) and the "pocket" by the chest, and push away, twisting to the left. You can then control the arm that way. From there, you can step into an osotogari, or to a tai-otoshi, or some other option.

Did randori with Ry-sensei. It was challenging.

Not much else to report for tonight. :V I kind of didn't want to come because the weather was terrible, but I figure it was better to just go.
