Judo adventures 4.14

Attending: Me, M1, C, Ed, Mo, Eth, Si, G, and F - returning after about a year and a half. We also had two new people whose names I didn't catch. J-sensei, T-sensei, and TN-sensei as instructors.

Today we worked on deashi barai. We worked on standard, and then using it for combinations. The main thing I remember him emphasizing is to place your hand on the sleeve at the centre, around near where the elbow is. Secondly, the pull for the elbow should be in the same direction that you're scooping/sweeping the foot.

We did combinations of two deashi barai, and also deashi barai to osotogari. I partnered with G for all of it. Toward the end I didn't have much time to practice the combinations because we had been working on getting G to figure out how to do them.

We did some randori. I did one round with F; he didn't manage to throw me, but I did manage to throw him once. Hopefully he will come to class more often.

I was kind of unsure about missing class on Monday. I had been planning to go on Tuesday and Thursday instead, for the short class, but I have to do something after work on Thursday and I think I would be rushing around too much.
