Judo adventures 4.07

Today was groundwork.
First we worked on a turnover where you slip your hands underneath and grab the lapels with both hands, then turn them over. Very basic.
Next we worked on a technique called "Super Rolling Thunder", hahaha. Apparently it's a technique that was originally not developed in Kodokan judo, but in a different system; eventually Kodokan recognized it and gave it a different name, but the original name is 'Super Rolling Thunder'.
It's kind of challenging to describe it - basically you reach under with one hand to grab the skirt of the gi, then grab the belt with the other hand. Then you sit the leg closest to your opponent through, and lift the other one, using the momentum to roll over and take them with you. You should (eventually) get in a position to do a hold down.
Then we did a third turnover that I can't even begin to describe because it had so many parts to it. And I don't remember the name either. It sounds like it might be another obscure one.
Class was good. Looking forward to Saturday's class.
