Judo adventures 4.01
Sep. 1st, 2025 10:00 pmAttending: Me, M1, M2, and a new guy, Kee. J-sensei instructing.
Kee is new to the class but not to judo. He's a half-green belt. Has been at the club before apparently.
We started with review of koshi-guruma. Then reviewed "one thing you learned over this summer". Not applicable for me.
It was:
1. J-sensei's version of ogoshi, with a fake sweep leading to a 3/4 turn toward the left.
2. A weird backward throw similar to tani-otoshi where ou can either sit down or go into a forward roll. It involves gripping at the elbow, getting behind them, putting your head under their arm, and putting your foot halfway between their feet.
3. A turnover that I found kind of awkward but can go straight into an armbar.
TN-sensei is coming back in late September. If all goes well, that is. Hopefully things will work out with that.
My arm is okay. We'll see how I feel tomorrow. I wore a compression brace; it seems flimsy but we'll see if it helps.
I am so out of shape.
