Attending: Me, M1, Ed, G and her father P. T-sensei, J-sensei, and N instructing.
We had a variety of review today.
Started off with kesa-gatame and kata-gatame. After that we moved on to bow and arrow choke. I worked with Ed and G on this. Then we did a little groundwork randori; I worked with G, then J-sensei. After that, we worked on uchimata and also moving sideways. Again with G.
Overall, a good review class.
One suggestion T-sensei had is that if you opponent is on hands and knees, when they put one leg up to stand up, get them with an uchimata from there. It'll get you ippon and there's not much they can do against it. It's an unexpected alternative to moving in for groundwork.
I informed VP that I won't be going to Calgary this year. Maybe next year.
