Judo adventures 3.67
Mar. 31st, 2025 10:00 pmAttending: Me, C, Mo, Ma & Jo, Ed, Di. Ry-sensei, Ri-sensei, and J-sensei instructing.
Today was all about armlocks. We worked on one basic form - the position you're able to go into after a throw, especially ippon-seoionage. J-sensei led the instruction.
He emphasized keeping your feet tight to the body, and the knees together.
Also, before you even put yourself on the ground, you can pull up on the arm and cup the shoulder with your off hand to give more control.
If doing the lock from standing position, it's easier to do with only one foot on the far side of the body. So if doing from typical ippon-seoionage position, left foot goes over the body and next to the head, while right foot stays on the closest side of the body and gets very close underneath.
C and M1 and Ma & Jo all won medals at provincials, according ot the results I looked at on the Judo Alberta website. Yay!
