Judo adventures 3.64
Mar. 22nd, 2025 04:48 pmAttending: Me, C, Ma & Jo, E, Ed, and misc kids. T-sensei, Ry-sensei, and Ri-sensei instructing.
Did beep test. Managed 9.2.
Today was just review and conditioning, because provincials are next weekend.
Started with turnovers and related techniques. One thing we did was not a turnover per se but moving into a choke. You basically get behind them, reach your hand inside their gi at the back of the neck, lift them up, and then go in with your other hand around the neck.
Worked on footsweeps. Moving sweeps, all directions. Then we worked on throws. Not completing at first, just entering. Then we moved to completing the throws on the crash mats.
Not much to comment on for this lesson. It was slightly shorter than typical, because some of the kids were pretty small - the full 2 hours is too much for them. That worked for me, 'cause I had some errands to run.
T-sensei says that kata will probably start after Nationals. So - in May, probably, not April.
