Judo adventures 3.61
Mar. 15th, 2025 06:32 pmAttending: Me, M1, C, Mo, Ed, & the very young colourbelt competitor who's been coming to some of the classes.
We did a beep test, and I managed to beat my previous. Not by a lot, but I'm still pleased.
The rest was drills rather than new material. We started with footsweeps, then moved upward. There was a lot of emphasis on throwing in all directions.
Then we moved on to strategies for ippon-seoinage, being sure you can throw both directions, and also throw while moving sideways. You can use your opponent's momentum to help you turn in and execute the throw.
We practiced on the crash mats for a bit. And then we worked on ura-nage, briefly. Turns out that C used it very well during the Edmonton tournament!
We also worked on turnovers for a little while.
Not much to say in detail about today's class. But we did work pretty steady, and I was exhausted at the end of it.
