Judo adventures 3.49
Feb. 12th, 2025 10:00 pmAttending: Me, M1, C. J-sensei instructing.
Warmup was intense. I don't know why. We didn't do much different from usual, but I found it very hard. Maybe I was just tired.
We worked on drills - mostly ippon-seoinage. Just throwing the line onto the crash mat for a while.
After that we put away the mat and judt did ippon-seoinage moving turn ins. After a bit we added a snap. I worked on both right and left.
We did grip drills. I find that very hard - I can't keep a grip and I can't break it. This is something I need to work on.
Finally, we did chokes from flat turtle. You slip your right hand under the chin, then drop your left shoulder for pressure onto their shoulder, and you sit through like kesa-gatame. Might practice this more in the future, because I like the idea but couldn't get it tight enough.
M1 and C are going to the Edmonton International tournament at West Ed. I thought about combining going to watch it with a shopping trip, but it turns out that's when my coworker's vacation starts, so I can't take that time off. Maybe next year?
