Attending: Me, M1, C, Mo, Ma & Jo, E. Ry-sensei and J-sensei instructing.
C won silver at the Sask Open! That's very exciting for him. If my understanding is right, this means he'll be able to compete in the nationals this year.
Anyway. Groundwork today. We worked a lot on the turnover where you reach under the arms and grab the lapels.
Part of the trick to it is that after they're turned over, you pull in the hand holding the lapel as tight as you can. Well, both that and the one that scooped the arm, but I find pulling tight the one holding the lapel makes for a more secure hold.
I worked with J-sensei a lot on this, including on my weak side. He said that he saw a lot of improvement even just in that one session, so that was cool.
I think the building next to us finally has a business going in it. It looks like it's going to be a gym; there was a lot of equipment in there. Or maybe the crossfit place is expanding. Either way, that's cool.
