Judo adventures 2.34

Attending: Me, M, M2, M2's kid Ja, A, H, V-chan. Sensei instructing.

Basic class today. Grip breaking, uchikomi up and down the mat, then throw practice. We concentrated more on form and foot placement than we usually would, which I appreciated.

Worked with M2 for the grips, Ja for uchikomi, and H and V-chan for the throws.

We did a round of randori at the end. Due to chance, I was partnered with M, who is twice my size. :V I managed to get him a few times, including with a sode-tsuru-komi-goshi, much to my surprise.

On Saturday there's a UFC watch party at the dojo. Right now my brain is like "ugh, I don't want to go". But I'll go. Probably won't stay for the whole thing, but. I should show up to things.

Sensei suggested I go to one of the training camps that's coming up. Ha. Not going to happen! Even if budget weren't an issue (which it is), it's just way too much time to get down there, and since I'm noncompetitive it wouldn't be worth the trouble, and and and. (I mean, if there was something local, maybe I would consider, since I need to work on my technique. But.) ...Anyway, maybe he was joking. Because I appreciate the thought, but it really wouldn't make sense for me.
