Judo adventures 2.12

There was a Pride YMM coffee meetup shortly before my judo class. Normally, I'd skip judo for this, but since it's the first class, I decided to go to the meetup and leave early. That actually worked pretty well - I did get to be there for 3/4 of the meeting - so I might consider doing this when there's scheduling conflicts in the future.
Anyway, judo.
Attending: Me, M, M2, L, A, F, + teenagers C, SJ, Kz, H - and V-chan came back after being gone for a super long time! Also, we had a new guy, Z. V-sensei instructing.
No new material today; it was mostly a review/practice class.
Started off with setups, picking a throw or two and practicing the balance breaking and form with no follow through. I partnered with A for most of it. Since he's in recovery and I'm super rusty, it just makes sense. :)
Then we switched out and I worked with Z for a bit. V-sensei taught him the movements for osoto-gari, so we worked on that. Z did taekwondo as a kid, and he knows how to fall properly, but this is his first experience with judo. Hopefully he'll come back to next class as well!
Did grip drills with V-chan after that. Fff she is really good... it was so nice to see her again, it's great having her in class. IIRC last time she needed to drop due to having to devote more time to school instead - hopefully that's all sorted now.
After that, throw practice. Not randori per se, but just taking turns throwing, doing whichever you want. I worked with F for a bit; it was good to see him again. I kept trying to do uchimata, since we worked on that last class. It wasn't as easy as I would have liked. xD
After that, randori for a bit. Instead, I worked with A for a short time, and we continued to practice throws. Then I went with Z for a while, and continued to help him practice.
[edit] OH and I forgot that I worked with C also - that kid threw me a ton of times, ha. But it was fun! I really enjoyed it!
Overall, it was a pretty fun class - it was nice to see everyone, and I had a great workout, ha. I appreciate that we're easing into things with reveiw, rather than new material.
