Well, I got laid off today.

If I'll be honest, I'm completely unsurprised. There was a lot of restructuring going on, a ton of layoffs last year, and there were a few signs that caused me to think I might get the axe next.

Upside: I'm leaving with excellent references and a halfway-decent severance package. Downside: jobsearching. Augh. Fuckin' hell.

I'll deal with this on Monday. I've had quite enough of work for today.

Really wish there was a judo class tonight - throwing some guys around would be cathartic. Alas.

Aww man. D: I'm so sorry, that's rotten. I'm thrilled you have good references and severance package - it really is the least they can do - but these everywhere restructuring movements have absolutely got to stop. Yeah, it's definitely The Worst. On the one hand, even the upper management at my office wanted to keep me, so that's a good feeling. On the other hand, there wasn't anything they could do about it - apparently they were looking company-wide for remote work for me, but there was just nothing. Ah, well, after this long, it's time to move on. :V
