Another meme yoinked from Tumblr. This one is billed as "Ao3 wrapped" a la Spotify; since I don't publish much on Ao3, I'm incorporating what I posted at [personal profile] roesslyng into it as well.

How many words have you written this year?
According to my word tracker doc, I've written 24.3k. The goal for the year was 25k; since there's still time left in December, I think I'll manage it.

How many works did you publish this year?
12 works so far!

What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?
"Beautiful is the land that I love", which actually isn't published yet, but will be published next year! This work is for a fanbook, so it'll be a while before it'll be public. Anyway, it's set during the Singing Revolution and I put a ton of work into it - I really wanted it to be perfect, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

What work of yours has the most hits?
Uhhhh well. "Turning inward, no last thoughts"* has the most hits of my 2023 Ao3 works, but since I only uploaded 3 works to Ao3, it doesn't indicate anything about what the most-read is!

What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?
"Transcendence"* is a very niche work (that's the one with one half of the pairing consensually bleeding the other out) and I only expected like, one person to read it. But several people liked it, yay!

Favorite title you used
"As a treat"* is simple but so perfect for the story that it is, I think. BG can have a little eyeliner - as a treat!

If you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the most?
N/A, no song lyrics. Did borrow from poetry, though - Zwicky again.

Pairing you wrote the most for this year?
7 out of 12 of this year's works involved Romania/Bulgaria in some way, plus various works with those two that I haven't finished yet. It's been the Year of RoBul, apparently.

Favorite pairing you wrote for this year?
Poland/Estonia, honestly. I love this pair, and I haven't written them in ages. It was really fun to remind myself what I like about them.

What work was the quickest to write?
I think "Composition"* took me about an hour. That was by design - part of the point was to use condensed writing time.

What work took you the longest to write?
That would be "A Visit from the IT Daddy"*. I'd started writing that one the previous year. There were a lot of reasons it took me a while: It was an auction work, so the bar is higher. It was for Tik, so I doubly wanted it to be the best it could be! It's a pairing I haven't written in ages, so getting back into it was a little challenging. Plus, though I know Tik likes my characterization of PL, it always feels like slightly more pressure when you're writing for someone who lives in the place/character that you're writing about. ...Also, I got stuck on the tech aspect and needed to sort that out. (I have [personal profile] kanadka to thank for the idea of PL downloading a bad torrent and screwing himself over.)

How many WIP’s do you have in your docs for next year?
I have 6 in paper format that I'm actively/semi-actively working on. Beyond that, I have no idea.

What’s your longest work of the year?
That would be "A Visit from the IT Daddy" again, at around 4k.

What’s your shortest work of the year?
That would be "Take it slow"*. Most of my works this year were very short; this was the shortest at 400 words. (Might have made it longer if I wasn't working with limited time - it was a present and I'd only just found out about the occasion at the time.)

What WIP are you taking into next year with you?
All of them. ...Including one long one that I haven't actively worked on at all in the past year, and probably won't work on next year either.

What’s your most common “Additional Tags” tag?
The three I posted to Ao3 all have "Established relationship". That's one of my most common Ao3 tags in general.

Your favorite character to write this year? The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?
Fucking Poland, man. I love him, but he's the kind of character whose personality is exhausting. Writing him tends to be filled with experiences like "This dialogue is terrible, but it's also in character" and "His thought process here is ridiculous... But it fits." Dude's exasperating. I adore him. (But man, he's hard to write.)

What’s one pairing you want to explore next year?
More Poland/Estonia! They're just so cute. I've missed them. I do have some ideas, so it's just a matter of finding time to get those down.

Which work of yours have you reread the most?
What, like, outside of re-reading for editing purposes? That'd be "Transcendence", I think. Partially because I want to write a sequel/followup to it.

How many kudos in total did you get this year?
80 on the works published this year, but see what I said before about not publishing on Ao3 much.

Which work has the most comments?
That would be "A Visit from the IT Daddy", with 6 on ao3 + some nice tag commentary on tumblr as well.

Did you do any collaborative works this year?
No co-authored works or anything here. But I guess you could say "Beautiful is the Land that I Love" counts as collaborative - because it's for a fanbook, and also because it'll be translated into Chinese!

Did you write any gifts this year?
Yes!
"Turning inward, no last thoughts"* was for Razzaroo in the Candy Hearts exchange
"IT Daddy"* was for Tik
"Take it slow* was for Lindonwald
"Composition"* was for Lumiere
"Delayed Gratification"* was also for Lumiere
and. Uh. "Self-indulgence"* wasn't technically a gift for Lindonwald, but it was one of those situations where I was like, "Precisely one person will read this, and I know exactly who that will be."

Did you receive any gifts this year?
Yes!
Sunset to Dusk by Beleghir in Candy Hearts exchange (Promare, Lio/Gueira/Meis, R-18)
and Wolves by Daudeduer for my birthday ;) (Hetalia, Sweden/Norway, R-18, some 17th-century extremely dubious consent)

What’s your most common category?
M/M per Ao3.

What do you listen to while writing?
Either ambient noise or no-talking ASMR. I can't do music.

Favorite work you wrote this year?
I'm not sure if "Transcendence"* is my favourite, but it's close. That thing was very, very self-indulgent. Like, when I look at it now, even style-wise it's clear that it was intended just for me.

Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?
Either the silly telephone conversation in "IT Daddy", or maybe that bit in "See you soon"* when Ro is imitating France in a very ridiculous way... I dunno man, I just like writing goofy things sometimes.

Biggest surprise while writing this year?
Writing to prompts is still fun! I'd thought I'd lost interest in that a while back, but no. Guess it just needs to be the right thing to catch my attention.

Same here. I will post in probably on December 31st as I am currently working of two oneshots, which I hope to finish this month.

It has been too long since I had the opportunity to ramble about my writings.
