Judo adventures 2.8
Oct. 23rd, 2023 10:03 pmI'm still recovering from that injury, but I decided to go to class today to take photos.
Attending: M, VP, L, F, and three of the teenagers. Sensei instructing.
This was the instructed class. So, they did a bit of groundwork, then upright, then groundwork randori followed by upright randori.
A was also there; one of the teenagers is his grandson. I haven't seen him in ages! Apparently he attended a few classes while I was on vacation, but then got injured because he pushed himself too far. Whoops. Well, hopefully he'll be able to recover, and so will I, and then we'll be able to go to class together again!
And it was really nice to see L. He's been away on vacation, and I feel like I haven't seen him in ages.
Anyway - I took a bunch of photos. Probably most of them will be blurry, but who knows. I think groundwork is a little easier to photograph than upright, but we'll see for sure when I take the photos off the camera.
I used both my little point-and-shoot and my ipod touch for pictures; going to compare them to see which is better. I have a feeling that the ipod is slightly better at getting things in motion, but it's hard to say. Doesn't help that the lighting in the dojo is kind of crap. :V Ah, well.
It was really nice to see people again, at least. I've been feeling really isolated lately, due to being sick and recovering, so it was nice to get out for a bit, even if staying on the couch probably would have been the doctor's recommendation.
