Judo adventures - Class 76

Attending: Me, VP, L, L's cousin T, G, M, M2, Ke, J, aaand TJ and his kid C showed up for the first time in ages! Sensei instructing, V assisting.

There were some upgrades at the beginning of class! M2 and Ke upgraded to yellow, and C and J upgraded to blue. :D I'm really happy for J; he's been working hard at this all year.

Upright practice today. Sequence was evading osoto-gari and using the momentum to go into an ippon-seoinage. Up and down the mat, then full throw. I partnered with VP for this.

We didn't really spend much time on technique today; since it was the last class, the second half of it was all randori. :D Two groundwork sessions + then the rest upright.

I was kind of tired, and the gym was very hot, so I wasn't so great tonight. ;p Though I did manage to get M2 with a makikomi, which was very surprising - I managed to do the full finish and everything!

Anyway. Good last class; glad so many people showed up, that was nice.

So! For sessions during the break season, we do have mat space, technically. F (a brown belt who shows up occasionally) has mat space in his garage (?!) and he's offered to let us use the space one day per week (??!!). So, that's a thing that's going to happen. Downside, he lives on the other side of town, but... I'm going to try to make it to the sessions anyway. Why the hell not. :V
