I bet we all have received comments on our work that're going to be stuck in our minds for the rest of eternity. What are yours?

Here's mine: "It's well-written, but not very erotic."

Context: In my pre-Livejournal days, I was on Opendiary. There were a bunch of people posting original erotica to the site (which wasn't actually allowed, but never mind), and of course I read the stuff. And I got So Annoyed at the terrible SPAG, lack of attention to characterization and interpersonal dynamics, and general incoherence. I thought: "Man, if you're going to write something, you should put some effort into it, even if it's just porn."

Naturally, I started writing my own! (Under a sock account, of course.) "I'll show these people how it's done! >:| !" I started putting out short R-18 stories with some attempt at plot/characterization/romance and mostly-decent SPAG.

The number of people posting original porn over there wasn't large, so eventually my sock account got noticed and ended up on rec lists. The most notable comment was the one written above.

Main thing I felt about it at the time, and still think: "Oh, but you think it's well-written! :D"

Mission accomplished! xD

The comment-comment that sticks out most in my head wasn't exactly a positive (nor super negative!) thing, it was just really funny to me -- I'd written a cracky ficlet where Taiwan and Seychelles had snuck into a bathroom in an unidentified UN building to grab a quickie, and someone just commented "Taiwan isn't part of the UN".

(I'm Taiwanese... and had previously written multiple non-cracky ficlets about Taiwan not being part of the UN... posted to the same account :P)

I think the only one that really lives in my head rent-free is the FF.net review begging me not to make "(Nice Dream)" yaoi. Oops guess who's going to kiss if I ever finish it...

More weird than anything, but I have one fic that received, over a period of several months, multiple comments asking me to mark it as underage, which it did not contain.

Nope! They were all anon comments, too, so no way of knowing if it was one person who kept asking or what.
