Judo adventures - Class 69

Attending: Me, G, M, M2, and... L was back! Sensei instructing.

Upright today. Drills down the mat before going in for a final throw. Started with osoto-gari, then ippon-seoinage, then a combination - use a failed/evaded ouchi-gari as setup, then go in for ippon-seoinage.

Worked with M and L. Three person rotation, not ideal, but eh. Throwing M is a challenge, but for practice it's no problem.

Doing the combination was... hard. I dunno, I find ouchi-gari cool but challenging, and this one is an awkward combination to do with the crash mats because you need to be careful with your positioning, otherwise your partner just ends up on the floor.

I felt very off-form today. I feel like... ugh, I just need more practice. Moar technique. I really miss when we had 1.5 hour classes, even though they left me exhausted, because we would spend tons of time on just plain old form and technique, especially when T-sensei was instructing.

Randori at the end. Did a round with Sensei, then one with L. Managed to actually execute two holds on L with good form - I was pretty pleased with myself for managing.

Aaand then the third round of randori was upright, and I ended up sitting out because of the uneven numbers.

I really hope L is coming back for good; I've missed him! :V Had meant to ask if he's off night shift for good, but didn't get a chance. Next time.
