Pluses and minuses

yuuagoStill no brains, so have an update of what's been going on since my plus-and-minus entry earlier in the month*. :V And a few other things.
+ Received my new credit card after that whole fraud debacle. Looks like everything's sorted now. (Aside from updating my various subscriptions, but - we'll do that later.) Ugh, that was a pain in the ass. I don't mind paying cash for things most of the time, but I did need it for like... bills and stuff.
+ Brother's new puppy is adorable. Such a cutie! Still learning to keep his teeth to himself, though. And I'm looking forward to when he'll be big enough to take for a proper walk - he's still way too small for that right now.
± Received the instructions that my finance guy said would be sent to me. I haven't set up the free anti-fraud protection stuff yet, but at least I have the info I need. Going to have to look through it when I have a moment. (Ugh.)
- It's been very smoky lately. You know how the Weather Network will have weather status as "sunny" or "chance of rain"? We're just "smoke" at the moment. As far as I can tell, it's all blowing in from elsewhere, since most of the province is on fire. Currently no warnings from the municipality, so I'm not concerned, but ugh, I really hate not being able to open the windows.
+ I started work on something niche. I've had it in my head for a while, and it feels good to get it down on paper, though I'm not far into it yet. It's very much a "just for me" sort of thing.
- Ahhh my mom has started the "what do you want for your birthday? You know that I need to know ahead of time in case I need to order something, blah blah" thing. Which is true, however, at the moment I'm just like... "I dunno, some colourful socks and a box of lokum?" To which the answer would be, "You can just buy that yourself". As usual. :V (SIGH)
+ Monday is a stat! Hooray! I'm going to sleep so much, hot damn. (I probably will not, but let's pretend.)

Birthday: it really is a little funny to have people ask about what you want for gifts, just to proceed to Not Do That. Hopefully it all works out in the end and happy early birthday!
