A series of pluses and minuses

No brains, so have a scattershot update in the form of "pluses and minuses":

- Received notice from my bank that some shithead stole my credit card number and ran up a bunch of charges. They reversed all of it and there will be an investigation, but ugh.

+ Brother got a new puppy and I'm going to meet it this weekend! :V

- Received notice from the dude who handles my investments that one of the companies they work with (or whatever) was hacked. Tl;dr, info may be compromised, I'm gonna need to call him again tomorrow, ughhh what a headache.

+ The fire in the south of the municipality seems to be under control at the moment (?)

- It's like 30C outside (ew)

+ I've been working in the office for a few weeks, so I can wear the Nice Clothes that I don't bother to put on if I'm working at home. It feels nice to dress up a little. And it's all stuff that's like... way too lightweight to wear in winter, so. Perfect for this crazy-warm nonsense weather.

+ I've been having some very nice fandom-related conversations, and it's been very inspirational. Sat down and dumped a whole-ass draft on paper in the span of a couple hours.

- Now I need to edit the thing, ew.

+ I've been doing word sprints with a friend on the weekend, which has been GREAT for getting things done! Managed to get my Crack the WIP fic in early, hooray. (Which also was the thing I was writing for Sunflower Auction, so.)

- Sunflower recip has been unwell, therefore hasn't read it yet, so I'll be vibrating in place until they do feel well enough to do so. Auuuuuugh

+ Judo tonight! :D :D :D :D

No kidding! It's like a big bundle of anxiety-inducing nonsense, and it's a terrible coincidence that two fiance-related things happened within the span of two days, aughhhh.

A PUPPY OMG

Puppies are really great when you can give them back to their owner. Lot like babies actually :'D they're such high energy and they require constant supervision or they will get into all sorts of trouble, but when you get to spend like an afternoon with one and that's it? perfection, chef's kiss, etc. The best way to puppy, truly!

Glad the bank was so on the ball about your credit card! In my experience it's always been the case that the person finds out first and the bank is very ho hum about it and getting them to do something can be like pulling teeth. Sorry about the rest of the financial headache too D: what a lot of no bueno. I hope it all resolves smoothly.

(up for more sprints tomorrow? I'd be down, same bat time same bat channel! :D)

Your thoughts are my thoughts re: puppies. So much work! So much supervision needed! So much training for basic stuff like "don't chew the television cords", oh man. Hell, pets in general - I love my bro's other dog, he's a very very good boy, and I don't mind even petsitting for a few days, but I wouldn't want to have him all the time!

With the bank, there were a few charges rung up before they called me; but all of the fraudulent charges were on the same day, so I guess it was easy for them to take my word for it that none of the charges from that particular day were me. The other financial headache is going to be a bit more challenging to deal with - upside, we're getting some kind of free anti-fraud protection; downside, I'm going to have to set it up for me and my parents, because both of them also had investments with the mutual funds group that got hacked. [/pinches the bridge of his nose] Fun times.

Anyway, YES definitely sprints tomorrow, please! Man, this has been so helpful for me re: finishing stuff. <3 And I enjoy hanging out with you even if it's just virtually.
