Judo adventures - Class 30
Dec. 16th, 2022 11:04 pmWe had to move Thursday's short class to Friday due to the school needing its gym. Attending today was me, Se, R-kun, and also K-kun (who came in late). T-sensei instructing.
We spent a looot of time on technique for throw set-up. Very important! Very... repetitive... but, yes, important. Started solo, then did it with partners. Might need to think about incorporating the solo movements into my at-home practice, I dunno.
Eventually, we pulled out the crash mats. Worked on morote-seoinage, which I learned in class 27. Still challenging, but getting the hang of it.
Partnered with K-kun this time. Upside: Dude was actually able to throw me onto the crash mat, unlike a Certain Person I was working with last time. Downside: It was kind of scary at first, because that's quite a throw, and with the way he was doing it, it was quite a distance for me to fall - but eventually we figured out that he just needs to drop down a lot more while executing it, and that helped.
Not sure if we'll have class next week; there might be a break. Guess I'll have to wait and see.
