Small class today. It was me, K, K-chan, and J. Sensei was back, so I guess he didn't catch whatever it was that knocked me flat the other week.

We practiced grip breaking first, switching out so everyone got a turn with everyone. J was able to give me some tips with my technique, which was nice. Kind of wish we'd had just a few minutes more time to spend on that, because I didn't get as much time on it as I wanted - it's been a few classes since we worked on this.

Then, we worked on a hopping variation of uchi mata, and I was paired with K-chan for the rest of the class. I like this throw, but I found it tricky - partly because it's hard for me to strike the right balance, and partly because K-chan still has a lot of difficulties with her balance - she goes splat at the slighest provocation; I don't even have to throw her to get her on the mat, haaa. And then things like the foot placement and whatnot, it's hard to get it right. But a few more tries with it, I'll get it eventually.

I really wish we could've switched partners for a bit - I wanted to try this one on J! [/shakesfist] And we didn't have time for randori this time, either. (Ah well, next time, next time...)

After class, me and J and K-chan were chatting for a bit. And she asked J if there's bullying in high school. Both J and me were like... well, trying to reassure her, but. Uhh. Hm.

I then said - essentially - that a lot of the people in high school will be the same people that she's in school with now. So if there's something going on now, there might be the same problems in high school. And she confirmed that yeah, she's having issues now.

I just want to hug this kid, man. She's a sweet kid! Whoever's making her feel bad needs to fuck right off. :|
