Judo adventures - Class 02

Second judo class today. Still loving it! The Thursday class is shorter than the one we do on Tuesdays, and when it was over I found myself wishing it was just a liiiittle bit longer, ha.

We did some throws today! When Sensei first mentioned 'throws' I was like... okay, that sounds 1. hard, and 2. intimidating. It isn't, though. :D Well, okay, it's tricky to do it 100% correctly, but that's what practice is for. It's really fun! Both being the thrower and the throw-ee, since we're using the big squishy mats for that particular bit. ;p

I was mostly partnering with J today. He's a really nice kid, very friendly and patient and helpful. Also really strong - he's like half my size but he can lift me like nothing, wow! (Maybe if I keep this up, I'll be like that eventually? :D )

Also I have my own gi now. :D Hooray! So I guess I am now officially committing to this, at least for the time that I told myself I would be. Let's see if I make it through the first month in one piece! ...And also I volunteered to help Sensei set up the mats before class on Thursdays, since there is no class before us on those days. Going to have to make note to remember that.

Anyway, I'm really really glad I had class tonight. I've had a rough week, and slept poorly last night, and I guess I was just feeling kind of run-down and sorry for myself. It was a big mood-lifter and I feel so much better now.
