May. 12th, 2018 09:17 amSo, last night was dual offerings - to the one who Strikes and the one who Plans. I ordinarily don't incorporate these two into anything, but it felt right, so.
Anyway, it was equal amounts of wine on both sides. Ended up using grandmother's drinking glasses, which felt a bit informal because we use them for everything, but they have a notch in them that at least made it easy to be sure that the amounts were the same.
I kind of wanted to do something creative with platforms on the altar, because of the whole hill/valley contrast between those two, but it was hard to find something that would both look good and sit securely overnight. I ended up scrapping that idea and simply using the terracotta dishes that I typically use as coasters - I turned one over, so the things put on top of it would be elevated, and then the other was upright. It has a wide/high brim, making the contents look like they're sunk down into it. A bit rough, but it works, without making a mess.
I guess those two have been on my mind a bit lately. This is both because I've been circling around my understanding of them, turning it over to try and figure things out. It's also because of - hmm - looking at the balance and trying to incorporate it into my own life, because it's the sort of thing that I need in order to accomplish my goals. Defense and offense, the strategist and the warrior. You can plan and think and plot all you want, but it will all come to nothing if you don't have the determination to strike.
I've spent too long on one; it's time to incorporate the other, too. Only with both will I be able to do what I need to do.
Anyway, I did that, and spent some time writing devotional poetry, and it was nice.
As for tarot - it's been a while since I did a reading. Just one card today; I'm going to keep it brief.
Nine of Cups, upright
Well, this is a card of success. Makes sense, considering what I've managed recently. I'm really pleased with myself for all that.
It can also be indicative of future successes - that the things I'm working toward will actually come to pass. I'll eventually achieve what I want (and get all that lovely happiness and peace and quiet.)
But it's important to remember that it isn't enough to dream about it, or to think about it, or to plan for it; this card is a wish, and it isn't enough to just wish for things. The success illustrated here is what will happen if you work toward it.
Once again - plan and strike.
