Reading Wednesday
Feb. 17th, 2016 05:51 amFinished reading: The Raven and the Reindeer by T Kingfisher. ...I thought I wrote something about this, but it turns out I was flailing somewhere else. I think. Anyway, OH MY GOSH, YOU GUYS, GO READ THIS. Rather, go read this if you enjoy: fairytale retellings (of The Snow Queen in particular), magic, talking animals, beautiful setting descriptions, winter, did I mention magic, and f/f romance! And it also had several tough old ladies, which is something I always enjoy (I just really like seeing elderly people in stories, as long as everything turns out okay for them). :D It's unfortunately only available as ebook, but you can find out which sites in particular have it here. Anyway, it's a good quick read, loads of fun, and I expect that it'll become one of my comfort novels, because it's just so cozy.
Currently reading: Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. This is one classic that I never got around to reading in school, and... still hadn't managed to get around to reading until now. I'm not far into it at all, but so far I enjoy it. There's something about the texture of the writing that I'm really enjoying. So, depending on how the rest of the book goes, I might need to take a look into Bradbury's other works as well.
Reading next: Not sure. I picked up a novel called The White Magic Five and Dime by Steve Hockensmith & Lisa Falco. Apparently it's... a mystery? With magic? And tarot? Anyway, it's from the library, so I suppose I'll have to read it some time soon. Other than that, I'm not sure, though I should probably get around to reading T Kingfisher's The Seventh Bride soon, since I still haven't read it.
