Fest and Iron Maiden, oh my
Mar. 13th, 2012 10:38 amFeeling pretty good now. Fest stuff is going well - it seems like all assignments were received (at least, I haven't had anyone come tell me that they didn't get it), and I've seen people around talking about how they're working on things and whatnot, so I'm pretty confident that everything will continue to go smoothly. It feels pretty good hearing about it, though. Helps assure me that yes, this was actually a good idea.
[As for my own fic, I'm off to a decent start. It'll need revising like whoa, but that's okay. And every time I work on it I get this huge craving for cake - and the reason why will become obvious when I post it. ;) ]
Work isn't going so good, though. Things are slowing down majorly, and there have been quite a few layoffs. I will not lie - I'm a little concerned. Ugh, if I end up having to find another job, I'll be pissed. It was hard enough just to get this one.
Still contemplating the possibility of summer travel. The Quebec idea is out, but maybe something else. I don't know. To be honest, I would just go somewhere on my own, but the pressure and nagging from family makes me not even bother to consider the possibility. Rather keep the nagging to a minimum, thanks. (Which is bloody ridiculous. Honestly, if I feel like going to Halifax for a week just to relax and enjoy myself, and I have the means to do so, who cares if I go alone? It's Halifax, and I'm 25. I do not need some relative breathing down my neck. But, nagging. Annoying.)
Regardless, what I mean is, I'd need to go with somebody. Alas, most of my friends are broke, which is a problem.
Well, if nothing else, at least I'll probably be going to Edmonton sometime in July. Iron Maiden's going to be playing there and my brother said that he'd try to get tickets for it. He didn't confirm with me that he has them, but I'm pretty sure he managed it. So, if nothing else, there'll be a summer concert and Edmonton shopping, which I haven't done since I was 14. Aww yiss. And we can have some... brotherly bonding times, or whatever.
This will either end well, or end terribly, and I have no way of being sure of which it will be.
