This year had its ups and downs, but even with the downs, it was really awesome.

☆ I travelled to four European countries (five if you count the plane-change in Germany) and met [livejournal.com profile] seaster, [livejournal.com profile] diplopod, [livejournal.com profile] uniaamu, [livejournal.com profile] moaamo, and [livejournal.com profile] minninen, who all turned out to be wonderful people. Good times, man. Good times.

☆ Went through months and months of jobsearching before finally landing something good with real potential to lead to further, permanent employment. :D

☆ Learned how to knit mittens and hats :D YAY

☆ Started learning Norwegian! Let's disregard the fact that I learn it in the most half-assed way possible and couldn't speak it for the life of me. I'm having fun with it.

☆ Managed to fulfill my resolution of watching 50 films.

☆ Didn't fill the resolution of reading 50 books, but I got pretty close! (Were it not for that one huge brick of a Vikings history book taking me two months to finish, I probably would have done it)

☆ Wrote a lot of fanfiction that I didn't finish, or if I finished I didn't post it. Except for that one thing. But the important thing is that I was writing.

☆ Roleplayed a whole lot and eventually managed to wrangle a kiss out of Denmark (even though it happened months ago, I'm still so happy about this, pffff)

☆ Stopped biting my fingernails for the first time in ever. Seriously, I have never not bitten my nails, never in my life. But now I don't do it any more. FEELS GOOD, MAN. Though having actual nails still feels... weird.

☆ Made some wonderful new friends <3

And various sundry things that I can't recall at the moment. Haven't made a list of goals for 2012 yet, but I'll do so in the next few days. Let's make next year a good one! ☆

Man, the 50 books thing kind of inspires me. I used to read a lot and be a pretty fast reader, but somewhere along the line I became a total fucking snail about it. That kind of encourages me to stop being a goddamn snail and read more ='D

Well tbh I'm so pathetic I should probably set the bar lower. Like....10 books. But yeah I think I'll do that.

I think I'm doing that 50 books thing next year. Sounds very much like something I'm going to love to do.

We could even help each other by recommendations! :D Here's some awesome books I've read once upon a time that are worth a look:

Master and Margarita (Mikhail Bulgakov) Classic! One cannot understand the Soviet people without reading this book.
The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove (Christopher Moore) I still wonder what on earth made me pick this one up but I remember grinning throughout it.
The Egyptian (Mika Waltari) This book is among those everyone should read. No really.
Sunglasses After Dark (Nancy A. Collins) Kitch and camp and everything like that. Use to treat a bad hangover.
The Illuminatus! Trilogy (Robert Shea & Robert A. Wilson) If you haven't you must.
Gormenghast Trilogy (Mervyn Peake) If I ever were to describe any book as "lush and rich" these three would be on the top.
The Summer Book (Tove Jansson) Not a Moomin book but quite a touching one just the same. If you like her way of writing this one's a must.
