Practically finished my giftmas shopping. All that's left is packaging and wrapping. Yes! Excellent!
Haven't really decided what to do about cards this year. I think I'll just take a look at my address book and pull names from there. I really don't feel like sending out a shitload of them this year. Though I have already gone out and bought them! ... Man, it's so hard to find something that isn't too - well - I mean - overly Christmassy. I mean, yes, I know, it's Christmas, but I don't really celebrate it. I try to get blank ones so that I can just write my own message, but man, that's easier said than done. And I love the ones with generic winter scenes and bright colours and lots of glitter (Okay, I admit it. I have an awkward love for Thomas Kinkade cards) but they tend to have rather over-the-top messages inside and - yeah, no. That's not my style.
Anyway. I suppose I might be prodding a few people to check that the address I have for them is correct, but other than that... yeah, no. And I kind of wish I could do gifts this year, but I can't really afford it, and I don't really have any good ideas either, so there it is.
I have so many knitting projects that I want to do, but so many ones that have been started and remain as-yet unfinished. Argh. I suppose I should get that done first. Part of the issue is, I'm still very much a noob at these things I guess, and I knit more tightly than I should. I suppose it's the kind of thing that only comes with practice, but it's frustrating to work on something and not have it come out the way I want it. Well, I guess I'll finish my current projects first, and then start some things using cheap yarn - I certainly have enough cheap acrylic left over to last a while. Honestly, people go on about how awful it is, and yeah it's kind of stiff-feeling, but with wear and a bit of washing that stuff can turn out pretty soft. I found a neat-looking pattern for scrap mittens, so hopefully I'll be able to do it and use up some of that old stuff, anyway.

Date: 2011-11-23 07:58 pm (UTC)Ah - "I do it too tightly too" - so you knit, too? Wonderful! I always love finding more people who do it :D
<small(Though for the record I'm a guy, didn't mention it before, I guess!)
O////////o
Date: 2011-11-24 06:15 am (UTC)I'm sorry. I forgot to mention I'm retarded before >>; Guess I'm just too used to only knowing girls in the Hetalia community. I should shut up before I shove my foot any farther down my throat.
I KINDA knit. As in, I try, do decently with simple things on a good day, see my friends making epic things without any effort, and then move on to studying. THEY CAN'T TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME! D<
Okay rant done. I'm gonna work on that whole study thing now.
