After a string of very, very cold days, I'm fully ready to say, I'M SICK OF THE NORTH. I'M SICK OF WINTER. I'm sick of heaps of snow and darkness and wearing layers upon layers of clothing but STILL being cold and I'm sick of not being able to enjoy going outside and I'm sick of -40C.

I'm sure people are tired of hearing me go on about how I want to move to Sweden Norway Finland some place in northern Europe because the weather is better there. Of course, it's all hot air, and I wouldn't really move (though it'd be awesome to live somewhere like that temporarily), but SERIOUSLY. I don't know if I can stand another day of -40.

In the past week, I have:

☆ Come down with a cold, and recovered from it.

☆ Realized that I only read three books in January, and flipped my shit about that. I am such a slacker.

☆ Received a wonderful package from [livejournal.com profile] fayore, with lots of little balls of yarn in various colours (and some coffee, too). There isn't really enough of any individual colour to do things like mittens or anything like that, though. I think what I'll mostly do with it is use it to finally make my ball-jointed doll a decent wardrobe. I've been meaning to do it for ages but never got around to it.

☆ Had a serious discussion with my mum about the real possibility of travelling to Europe this summer. She says that I should go in September instead of summer (admittedly, it would be less expensive). And that I should go to Sweden instead of Finland, or try to do both. The latter option sounds very appealing but who knows if I'd be able to work it out with the people I would (theoretically) be visiting.

☆ Haven't written a single damn sentence. FUCK. I am so unproductive and I don't even have an excuse for it. However, I have two days off in a row this weekend, so hopefully I'll get some worthwhile writing done.

Not very exciting, man. Lately my life has been WORK WORK WORK AAAAND SLEEP. That's it.

Europe, you say? Can I stow away in your suitcase by any chance?

Also, if three books is "slacking" I'm wondering what you consider to be "on track".

Maybe if I curled up into a foetal position?

I know exactly what you mean. I managed to get through four books this month and I consider it an accomplishment considering how easily distracted I am.

again i am very willing to share some of this 40 degree heat because i'm also sick of it and the waves of insects we get when we dare to turn the hardly-functional aircon on and not being able to do anything out of fear of collapsing.

BUT i'm glad you're better!! i don't think i'd ever recover from being sick in such weather but you're probably a bit more accustomed to it than i would be haha. also it took me a while to wrap my head around when 'summer' would be for all you northerners but i believe september would be a nice time to go!! it's a pity i couldn't go on exchange this year, otherwise we could have realised our ~bucket list item~ ...although somehow i don't think you'd want to fly all the way to europe to go ice skating with someone.. not european.

i hope you get some writing done soon /o/

In case of moving here, pick your city well. Helsinki is warm because it's in the south and by the sea, but it's also a bit windy. Get some random city up north and nearer east and you'll get your minuses, just like home! :D

Hey, how about stopping by Iceland on your way? :D?

THE NORDICS COUNTRIES YOU SAY? WELL, I'M NOT BIASED OF ANYTHING BUT I THINK YOU SHOULD COME TO SWEDEN. specifically Stockholm. ahem.

-40°c?! Okay, now I will never complain about -16°C again. Ever.
