After a string of very, very cold days, I'm fully ready to say, I'M SICK OF THE NORTH. I'M SICK OF WINTER. I'm sick of heaps of snow and darkness and wearing layers upon layers of clothing but STILL being cold and I'm sick of not being able to enjoy going outside and I'm sick of -40C.
I'm sure people are tired of hearing me go on about how I want to move toSweden Norway Finland some place in northern Europe because the weather is better there. Of course, it's all hot air, and I wouldn't really move (though it'd be awesome to live somewhere like that temporarily), but SERIOUSLY. I don't know if I can stand another day of -40.
In the past week, I have:
☆ Come down with a cold, and recovered from it.
☆ Realized that I only read three books in January, and flipped my shit about that. I am such a slacker.
☆ Received a wonderful package from
fayore, with lots of little balls of yarn in various colours (and some coffee, too). There isn't really enough of any individual colour to do things like mittens or anything like that, though. I think what I'll mostly do with it is use it to finally make my ball-jointed doll a decent wardrobe. I've been meaning to do it for ages but never got around to it.
☆ Had a serious discussion with my mum about the real possibility of travelling to Europe this summer. She says that I should go in September instead of summer (admittedly, it would be less expensive). And that I should go to Sweden instead of Finland, or try to do both. The latter option sounds very appealing but who knows if I'd be able to work it out with the people I would (theoretically) be visiting.
☆ Haven't written a single damn sentence. FUCK. I am so unproductive and I don't even have an excuse for it. However, I have two days off in a row this weekend, so hopefully I'll get some worthwhile writing done.
Not very exciting, man. Lately my life has been WORK WORK WORK AAAAND SLEEP. That's it.

Compared to where I am, northern Europe is sounding better and better. :|
Anyway.
WELL... I guess we've both been busy, so it makes sense we wouldn't get a lot of reading done. But STILL.
Also, you are a hoser. But ilu anyway. ;3;

Date: 2011-02-01 04:29 am (UTC)Also, if three books is "slacking" I'm wondering what you consider to be "on track".

Date: 2011-02-01 04:31 am (UTC)And... I DON'T KNOW I just -- man, if I spent half as much time reading as I did f5ing various places on the intertubes, I'd probably go through at least ten books per month. You know what I mean?
... Even without that factor, though, I usually manage about five.

Date: 2011-02-01 04:38 am (UTC)I know exactly what you mean. I managed to get through four books this month and I consider it an accomplishment considering how easily distracted I am.

Date: 2011-02-01 04:40 am (UTC)I should learn to be not-distracted. I would get so much more done, and probably would no longer be whining about how I never have time for anything.

You're silly.

Date: 2011-02-01 06:26 am (UTC)BUT i'm glad you're better!! i don't think i'd ever recover from being sick in such weather but you're probably a bit more accustomed to it than i would be haha. also it took me a while to wrap my head around when 'summer' would be for all you northerners but i believe september would be a nice time to go!! it's a pity i couldn't go on exchange this year, otherwise we could have realised our ~bucket list item~ ...although somehow i don't think you'd want to fly all the way to europe to go ice skating with someone.. not european.
i hope you get some writing done soon /o/

Date: 2011-02-01 01:52 pm (UTC)8) YES I think September would be good... edging into autumn, but still warm, and most of the tourists have left. Only main problem is that one of the people I want to visit will be in school by then, so I dunno....
And PFFT, what are you talking about - I would fly to the end of the earth for you. \o/ (though now that I think of it, that would be Australia, wouldn't it. ;p )

Date: 2011-02-01 06:27 am (UTC)Hey, how about stopping by Iceland on your way? :D?

Date: 2011-02-01 02:01 pm (UTC)And YES. Stopping by Iceland would be wonderful. <3 It seems like such a lovely place and I actually want to go there very, very much.
BTW (and completely offtopic) sorry I haven't been commenting lately. Trying to make any sense of your Finnish entries when they're run through Googletranslate is utterly impossible for me. xD
