✿ I've been knitting like a mofo. I'm finally learning how to make mittens, and I FINISHED ONE, YAY. ... But it's too small for me, so when the pair is finished, I'm sending 'em to sirenspammer. o3ob

✿ I received the Finland one coin figure that noonish sent to me and he's absolutely adorable ahhhhh

✿ I've been studying! That thing with the blue and yellow flowers on it is my set of flashcards. I still don't remember very many words yet, but uh, I'm getting there.

✿ I finally put frames on all the drawings that I received over the holidays. Y'all are wonderful. <3

All that aside, I can hardly wait to start my job on Monday. I'm really excited about it. Even though I haven't been out of work for long, it's nice to be employed again, hah.

Writing has been difficult lately because I haven't been able to get out of the house. I could have gone out today, but it was -41C and I basically said "Fuck that". I do try to write at home sometimes, but it's difficult when there are people up in my business all the time. It doesn't help that all I've felt like writing lately has been, uh, porn. Yeah, I don't know what's up with that. BUT. Most of the actual productive writing I've been doing is on that non-porn Sweden/Finland thing I've been poking at, which is good. I think maybe I just need to do three or four scenes more, and then the draft will be finished. Fucking finally, I say. I've had this in-progress for about six months, but one would never guess it by the length. I'm just... lazy.

I like making the inside bright, because it's so cold and dark and gloomy outside, ahh.

How do you even dress for -41C -- I feel like telling how, ahaha.

How one dresses for -41C varies depending on how much time they need to spend outside; if they're driving to wherever they need to go, they don't need to be terribly thorough, just a warm coat orwhatever. But I walk everywhere, and have to wait for the bus etc, so I need to dress really well. orz

-Thick socks
-Snowboots (proper insulated ones, not the fashionable kind)
-longsleeved shirt and a thick sweater over that
-Long underwear + thick trousers (jeans will do... dress pants will not)
-Long, heavy coat which can be buttoned to the throat
-Thick scarf, enough to cover most of the face except eyes
-Fur hat with earflaps
-Double layers: Cheap thin gloves worn under thick warm mittens

Not very fashionable, but it'll do... but even then, at that cold, I really prefer not to go out if I can avoid it, for obvious reasons. orz

And asldkjdf well I guess "if you feel like writing it, write it" is a good way to go about things. It's just hard without privacy. And then there's the part in which porn is like, the most difficult thing for me to write, so actually writing it often isn't as much fun as thinking about writing it.
Though I probably should do it more often anyway, as uh, practice.

Well, it's really not that bad, the cold. I mean, if you're not walking around in it, it's fine. Last year it was pretty bad, because the furnace went out in the apartment I was living in and I didn't have heat, so when it got this cold it was... bad... but I don't have that problem here, so it's okay. Really, 's no big deal.

And YES. WRITING. Not as much as I want to do, but I'm writing and ahhh it's making me so happy. I can hardly wait to be finished this fic, because then I'll really feel like I've done something. And also I won't feel guilty starting something else!

Not gonna' lie, I was pretty intimidated by it at first too, but it turns out it's much easier than I thought. But I found some sites that explain the abbreviations in patterns, which... helped. The only part I found quite difficult was making the thumb-hole, then picking up the stitches to make the thumb afterward. :)a

And yes, I'm studying Finnish \o/ Well... trying to study it. This house is so noisy, it's hard to concentrate on anything!

And I've been at least thinking about the Latin fic, how I'm going to go about it, so in a way I've been working on it. But what I really need to do is go and find something suitable in medieval Latin that I can incorporate into it. This might be a bit challenging because I never really did anything with medieval Latin, and of course I don't have access to books because I'm not in Stoon any more... but I'll think of something.

They're not nearly as bright yellow in real life xD My camera likes to take everything yellow and make it YELLOW.
It's actually not too bad once one gets used to it, but yeah, it's definitely not for everybody, and I did find mittens intimidating at first because it's not like... just a simple rectangle... :Va

Not gonna' lie, I'm usually "meh" about figurines too. What would I need all that extra junk for? My room's cluttered as it is. But Finland, ahhhh he's so adorable and so tiny and cute and, I dunno', it's kind of nice to have one APH figure, in a way - since it's been such a big part of my hobby-life for such a long time. (Normally I can't really stick with anything for a month, let alone a couple of years)

I worked on it yesterday! I just have maybe two or three scenes to go and then I'm done. But before I write them I need to decide exactly how it'll go, so it might still be a few weeks, but... I'M GETTING THERE.
