☆ I finally finished reading the Kalevala. Excellent; it's not often nowadays that I pick up long books, so I'm glad I got through it without taking forever. Even better, I finished it before Bice, which means I won our little race. Clearly, tortoises do not only win in fables. ;)

☆ Fringe is on. As much as I complain about the location of my apartment, there is one time that I love it, and that is during Fringe. It's so close, because the street is right there, shut down for it. I can hear the music from the window, and it's almost intoxicating, that atmosphere. I don't mind the noise at night, because there's so much joy in it.

☆ Speaking of Fringe, I probably should really enjoy it properly this time. Last two years, I never really thoroughly spent time there, didn't even actually go to any plays. I should change that this year. I should Do Something. I've spent too much time sitting inside recently - though part of that is because it has been too hot for me to go out.

☆ I have been doing daily writing recently (except for today, when I tried drawing something). Just drabbles and quick things; not exactly anything with quality. Still, it feels good to be writing again. I'd been going through a period where I hardly wrote at all, so now doing something makes me feel better, a bit. Maybe I'll even come up with something good enough to clean up and post somewhere.

☆ It's so hot that I expect I won't be sleeping much tonight. Argh, this drives me nuts. I've been going to bed far too late recently. I need to fix that, but it's difficult if it's so warm that I can't get to sleep!

☆ I still haven't written out those letters. But I will soon, I promise! I'm just lazy distracted as of late.

Fringe? What's that?
I feel your pain, Finland's been too hot for a week now. It's also really humid and we get smog from the Russian forest fires (although luckily not as much as people in Moscow do)(and I hear it's also hotter there). -.-

Fringe is an independent theatre festival; basically it is a bunch of small theatre groups putting on plays throughout the week. And the main street (right next to my house) is shut down for street performances and live music. It's the only time of year that this city is actually exciting. *3*

Urgh, that's just awful. A bit of warm is good, but that's just too much. :| Makes one want to just lock themselves in a dark room underground forever.

I too feel your pain as far as the heat thing goes. This past week it's been so hot down here that I've had the fan + air conditioning on and still felt way too warm. Only today was it a decent temperature outside (which sucks, because I was visiting colleges today and the one time it's actually nice outside the tour barely takes us outside at all. Dammit, when I went up to Massachusetts to check out colleges there it was 90+ degrees and sunny).

Please do come up with something good enough to post. I want to read more of your writing.

It's just so gross, ugh. It's like 32C today and I'm all... no. I want to go outside, but just, no. orz
But I'm so sick of being cooped up in my stuffy apartment, sobbbbb


I'll try! I have high hopes for some of the things I have scribbled up so far. Just need to wait until I'm in the mood to tackle them again.

i've always been meaning to go to the fringe festival here, but i've never looked into it much or found time ahh you should definitely go especially if it's so close, it looks like a lot of fun \o/ are there usually heaps of shows on?

I hope some day you'll find time! In my experience they're pretty fun. At the one here, there are a ton of shows on - even more than there are outside of Fringe time (this is a very theatrical city, which surprised me when I moved here)

And yesss yay writing <3 Oh and, ehhh well. I do draw, but not very often and not very well. But I'm kind of trying to practise more. Well, more than before, which was like once every two months, fff... But I don't know if that will happen. It's Bice's fault, because he's always talking about drawing all the time, and it kind of makes me want to do it too. [/copycat]

I wish you really could send me cold weather. ;__; sob

maybe next year i'll go! ahh awesome, i can say from personal experience that living in a city with a good arts/culture scene is quite something else and it makes these sorts of events even more fantastic

and ooh that sounds great, (i've heard) practice makes perfect after all and i hope you post some of your drawings one day! o/ unintentional facilitators are totally cool too ehehe
