Exhausted, so gonna' make this quick.
Jan. 10th, 2010 02:09 amMan, the last few days, I've felt so goddamn overstimulated. I don't understand, and it's making it hard to get anything done. :| Really, I am not impressed, not one little bit.
HOWEVER. On the upside, today was a lot better in terms of weather than the rest of the week has been. It was only around -6C, woohoo! Warm enough that I could go out in just a sweater, and not freeze to death. Yessss. Now, this is something I could get used to. Forecast for tomorrow is much the same, and I fully plan to exploit it. Gonna' walk downtown, maybe go to the White Cat. Not that I need any more books, but sometimes they have really good stuff, and I need to go to the bank anyway, and it's right on the same street.
I went to see "The Princess and the Frog" on Friday afternoon. I'd planned to go in the evening, but much to my surprise there was a 3:30 showing, so I opted for that. I figured that it would not be very busy because most of the kiddies would be just getting out of school at that hour, and I was right; the theatre was almost empty, and the kids that were there were very quiet. Anyway, as for the film itself - I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. I try not to get excited for things like this because I don't want to end up disappointed, so when I go in I just tend to hope for something that's "okay". But I really liked this. Soooo there we go.
I found out this evening that my brother is getting another dog. :| I am not pleased. He has barely trained the puppy that he already has, and he doesn't really have the space for two animals. And why would someone want two animals to take care of when they work as many hours as this guy does? I don't even get it, man. :|
On a fandom-related note, man, it's such a pain in the butt to keep up with indexing. Prompts have only been open for a few days and already there was a shitload of them. I'm glad I've resolved to update it every week, otherwise I'd so fall behind. Saw maybe one or two that I would want to write, but we'll see. Mostly I want to work on something that I started a few days ago. It'll be a long one, that one, and I don't know how it'll turn out.

Date: 2010-01-10 06:13 pm (UTC)What prompts were you interested in? I saw one that caught my eye, but it would involve some research and all because I want to write a stupid ending =3=

Date: 2010-01-10 06:18 pm (UTC)Den/Est, anything. I have a medieval one I want to do, but that aside, this prompt would give me opportunity to do something modern....
France/Est, anything. Just for the challenge. But I don't know how to write France, derp.
Sweden working for Norway
And some anyone/anyone --
7 loves of a nation
Obscure pairings (might do Est/Ice or Nor/Fin, I dunno)
Nation A teaching nation B math (Would be perfect for Est/Pol)
But I probably won't actually do any of these, pffff. Considering how slow I am.

Date: 2010-01-10 06:29 pm (UTC)France/Est sounds like it could be wonderfully sparkly.

Date: 2010-01-10 06:31 pm (UTC)For the 7 loves I'd proooobably do something with Estonia, but I can't decide if I want to do just Est/Fin, or write something involving him and a bunch of different people. Blah, decisions.

Date: 2010-01-10 06:35 pm (UTC)Haha I had Estonia in mind too /brofist.
But I'm probably not doing it because I am lazy.

Date: 2010-01-10 06:38 pm (UTC)Nuuuhhhhh. Two bums do not make a fic. I'm already a bum, you go write fic 8D
That aside, how are you and how's the cold there?

Date: 2010-01-10 06:41 pm (UTC)I'm doing all right. TheFuckingWeather says "IT'S FUCKING COLD" but it's only around -13C, haaa. 8D Brilliant!

Date: 2010-01-10 06:45 pm (UTC)I think I agree with TheFuckingWeather. Your cold tolerance is about 20C lower than mine.

Date: 2010-01-10 07:00 pm (UTC)Oh, pft, you. WELL. To me it's downright nice. 8D Hell, it's only -8 if you don't count the wind chill. Excellent~

Date: 2010-01-10 06:11 pm (UTC)I actually had the crazy thought this morning to try and tackle an America one but...yeah the sheer amount of America requests and the fact that I already don't have enough hours in the day to get what I want to get done, done makes that unlikely... ;-) Even if you take out the USUK ones because there's already a good up-to-date list for those there's still a ton of them.

Date: 2010-01-11 07:31 am (UTC)ahhh the princess and the frog. That left me feeling happier than any movie had in a long time. Or maybe I'm just partial to Disney, who knows.
oh lord the kink meme. just. SLOW DOWN, KIDS. You know, I think I've only requested one thing on there, and I felt so so guilty when I did haha ;_;

Date: 2010-01-11 07:34 am (UTC)Part of my wonders if PATF was as good as I think it is, or if I was just so desperate for another 2-D that I'll take anything :V I dunno. I'll have to see it again. But not in cinema of course (my wallet cannot handre)
The kink meme is just WAT. SO FAST. I don't understand these kids. Sometimes it seems like people don't really think out their requests either.... NGL, I'm kind of hesitant to request. Not jut because of the amount, but also because the stuff I like hardly ever gets filled. Saa, saa.

Date: 2010-01-11 07:43 am (UTC)I know, eh? I'm certain the majority of requests are just things thought up on the spot. They probably wouldn't remember the request a week from then.
ahh but you've actually written stuff for it, so it's alright if you request! I, on the other hand, have not.

Date: 2010-01-11 07:51 am (UTC)I don't plan to see Avatar, but I'll probably be seeing Sherlock sometime this week. Haven't read the source material yet, but oh well~
Requests thought on the spot - yes, I think that too. And it's kind of frustrating because I do try to put thought into things and get the wording right and -- well, oh well. None of my beeswax I guess.
And there's nothing wrong with requesting even if you don't fill, I think. The key is to just... request infrequently, and actually think about what you're requesting.

Date: 2010-01-11 08:01 am (UTC)I was never really interested in Avatar but it just seems like one of those movies I SHOULD see, so there you have it. sherlock holmes is another one I need to see as well but I really have no idea when I'll be able to do that.
you're probably better off never having read it, unless you're the sort of person who doesn't mind books being changed for movies
I think my request must've been somewhat decent, cause I got like five people saying they wanted it? Alas, it will probably never be filled because it is now lost in the deep ocean of requests ;_; maybe I'd have more luck if I requested financial gangbang part 5000 or something (maybe IN SPACE)

Date: 2010-01-11 08:05 am (UTC)... But usually I don't poke at things much. Especially with stuff like trashy fantasy novels (I fucking love trashy fantasy novels)
NGL, I kind of want to see Avatar purely for the visuals, but I haven't heard anyone say anything good about the plot (apparently it + the characterization = very thin) so I must just wait and not bother paying to see it.
On the whole, I don't mind books being changed into movies; generally I appreciate them as separate things, and like them both. Or sometimes I like the film version more (I much prefer the film version of Coraline to the novella version for example).
Man, I hate it when you get a million people saying they want something, and it doesn't happen. What was the request, by the way?
Also, UGH FUCKING GANGBANG REQUESTS. JUST LET IT DIE ALREADY.
... though it might be kind of cool if it was in space.
