Fuckin' snow.

It's snowing out.
I repeat: It's snowing out. It's the 14th of May and it's snowing. :|
I know this is Canada, but this is RIDICULOUS. Fuck you, Mister Weather. Fuck you up the ass with a pine tree - no lube, either, thankyouverymuch.
Anyway.
Had a doctor's appointment this morning. That went well. I have my refill, and all is fine. Unfortunately, I only got maybe, ehhh, three hours of sleep last night, but that will have to do. I'll try my best to go to bed early this evening, I suppose. And maybe I'll take a nap - but I'll be sure to set the alarm so I don't oversleep. That's one of the worst things. I don't feel very well, but again, that's probably the lack of sleep doing it.
Not much more to report at the moment - it's rather early in the day, after all!
I wrote about a page more of the story while in the waiting room. I'm really starting to get into this, even though not much has happened yet. It'll pick up very soon though. Exciting~ I'm still kind of unsure about it though. This is my first time writing Denmark (thankfully he will only have a few scenes), second time writing Norway, and I'm still not quite comfortable with Sweden yet. Well, it's all a matter of practice.
It's bloody difficult, though, to write two people who don't talk much. Good lord. Such a pain in the butt. Good challenge, though. What this tells me: I rely on dialogue as a crutch too much. Need to fix that.
Thought: When Sweden does speak, I don't find his dialogue all that difficult. Seems to me, he's much like my uncle John: speaks quietly, in a low, rumbling voice, using as few words as possible, and you have to pay quite a bit of attention else you won't catch what he's saying. Ahh.
And so, it drives me nuts when people just... write normally and take out the vowels. Guh. So hard to read! And it just doesn't seem quite right. Hmm, I think I've ranted about this before. Anyway.
Norway cupped Sweden's face in his hands, and the other nation bent to his touch, looking upward. He scrutinized what he saw, lips tightened into a thin line. The dark circles under his eyes were still there, but most of the unease had washed away, at least for the time being. Now he merely looked tired. Good.
Much to his surprise, Sweden spoke. "Gonna' stay the night?" he whispered, low voice barely audible even in the stillness.
Norway glanced at the window. It was dark outside, and no doubt as cold as a witch's tit. "I'd be a fool not to," he said.

Date: 2009-05-14 07:32 pm (UTC)SNOW, you poor thing, though I am unable to be surprised. Last year it snowed on the 17th of May, our national day, I almost cried when I woke up!
I used to have trouble with not sleeping, but suddenly I would fell asleep almost as soon as I closed my eyes. I wonder why?

Date: 2009-05-14 07:41 pm (UTC)Snow at this time of year is extremely unusual, almost unheard of. I heard so much grumbling and complaining when I went out today! Then again, we like to complain quite vocally about anything and everything.

Date: 2009-05-14 07:49 pm (UTC)Well it's the same way here, but like the pessimist I am, I never feel safe until the middle of June. Last year I was proved right.
