Ah.

There's an evac alert* for part of the municipality. The relevant communities are like 50 KM away. And - just an alert. Not an order.

But it's almost the anniversary of the Beast. And I sure do remember that a few days before May 03, there were evac alerts and orders for the southern part of the region. "Man, it sucks for those guys" I said on May 01 2016; and then on May 03 eighty thousand people were evacuating down one road.

So... uh. Yeah, packing a go bag. Just in case. And putting it in my car. Along with a bag of shelf-stable groceries, because I remember being stuck overnight at a campsite with no food, which royally sucked. (We got to Edmonton the next day, so not problem, but it still sucked.) Most likely, nothing will happen, but if something does happen, at least I'll be prepared.

I'm still going to go to judo tonight and enjoy myself, but uh... I think I'll gas up on the way home. I probably have enough fuel to get to Athabasca, but, like. You never know.

(Am I ever not going to be jumpy around this time of year? ...Probably not.)
