I wasn't planning to go to this class, but then we received an email saying that Saturday's class would be taught by T-sensei and that there would be a kata session at the end of it.
We rarely do kata. It's not very popular here - and honestly I think most of the younger students wouldn't have the attention span for it. So I figured I should definitely go, because I shouldn't miss this opportunity.
The weather was bad, so the class was small. I think that worked out pretty well for me, since I prefer smaller classes.
The regular class was all ashiwaza variations. It was a review of the typical material, in-depth, which was good as we haven't done those recently.
The kata session was pretty good. We mainly concentrated on the first two throws. It's difficult to remember the sequences - I kept stepping with the wrong foot, and so on. Though after I figured it out, T-sensei did say that my uki-otoshi looked pretty good.
The third throw, kata-guruma, we only worked on briefly. It's much harder because it involves hauling your partner up on your shoulders before throwing them. It would be hard for me to find a partner to work with for that.
I'm glad that I went to the class, but I was very tired for the rest of the day.
