Judo adventures 3.21
Nov. 21st, 2024 07:26 pmAttending: Me, M1, C, SJ, H, 3 kids. Ry-sensei instructing.
Worked some more on drop-seoinage. First on technique, then countering.
To counter, you can either step aside and push them to their opposite side, or you can counter with a tani-otoshi while they're on their knees, then go into a hold. I worked with M1. Tani-otoshi is a throw that I don't do often; you kind of fall back on your ass and throw them over your leg. It's challenging with M1 because he's so big.
We also did a little randori. I didn't really get anywhere with M1, but that's okay.
Also partnered with Ry-sensei. He recommended I try uchi-makakomi using the left side with right grip. It was challenging... maybe I'll ask T-sensei for help with it on Saturday.
C and SJ won't be at class on Saturday because they're at a tournament. I wonder who I'll be working with.
