I had an interview scheduled for today, but they called me and moved it to Monday. So now I'm going to have this thing hanging over me all weekend. I'm not too worried about it, but it'll be good when it's over and all I have to do is wait for the verdict.

There's a complex of wildfires up near Firebag River. It's close to the Firebag industrial site - that's a remote site, IIRC one of those camp-only outfits, no townies. It's still within the municipal region, but about 75km away from us. So, no issue for us, but hopefully they'll be able to keep the fire away from camp and/or get everyone out safely if necessary. The smoke's a pain in the ass, though - we're getting some of it down here.

And it's ridiculously hot, too. Supposed to be +30 next week, close to +40 near the middle of the week. Mom says it'll be too hot for her to bake my birthday cake. That's all right; we can pick up something nice at the grocery store. But that's the first time that happened, I think. ...Then again, we always used to pick up my grandma's birthday cake at the grocery store, because it was too hot down in the desert to make one. So there is that.

T-sensei moved the weekend class to Sunday due to scheduling conflict. No issue for me, but I told D that it'd be Saturday. Hopefully someone will give him the memo; I don't have his number.

I wrote a fic the other week, and feel good about it. It's still a struggle to get words on paper regularly, but I feel like, if I just do small things and don't really commit to anything, it's a little easier. Plus, I worked on it when I was down at the library enjoying the air conditioning, so that certainly helped. I might noodle around in Kajillionaire fandom for a little while; Melanie/Old Dolio is a nice pairing, and I want to spend more time with them. And I have some ideas for a thing about how Old Dolio got the job at the convenience store that I referred to in the previous story.

I'm still feeling kind of socially exhausted, and it's tempting to backdate everything. (In fact I had this backdated at first, but am un-backdating it now.)

I hope the interview went well!!
It's also been 30+ in Pacific Northwest, however I'm in [tropical location] right now. Which is somehow cooler than Seattle. Climate change, ISTG
