Judo adventures 2.32

Attending: Me, M, M2, A, L, V-chan, VP, Jo, C, TJ, Se, Kz, Ma, & H. V-sensei instructing.

Large class today! A little too big for my tastes, honestly - there's only so much room on the mat. It was nice to see TJ again; he's been out of class for quite a while, and it's great that he's found time to come back. I'm glad that Jo is still going, too.

Anyway, today was pretty loose, because V-sensei was instructing. 100 uchikomi, then grip-breaking, then pick a throw and practice it. And that was the class.

I partnered with A for most of it, and then switched to working with VP and Jo for the throw practice. Jo doesn't know many throws yet, so we tried a few different ones.

V-sensei was looking very different, and I eventually realized why. He's planning to go to nationals in May, so he's been training very hard, and it's showing! I know he wasn't satisfied with his results at the Edmonton tournament, so hopefully his hard work will pay off at the next one.

Our roof has been leaking a lot through the spring, and now it's even worse - they even had to put a large bucket on the mat to catch the water. When the weather is better, this is hopefully going to get taken care of, but in the meantime... ehhh.
