Random thought re b5 3.10

There's this one B5 quote that shows up in a lot of discussions about "badass moments" in fiction etc. I've seen it all over the place, but never had context. It sounded kind of neat the first time around, but after reading through it a hundred times, it got a little stale.


Only one human captain has ever survived battle with a Minbari Fleet. He is behind me. You are in front of me. If you value your lives, be somewhere else!


But then I watched the episode, and literally went Oh!

Yeah, in context, that moment is pretty damn cool. :D

oh, it's such a good moment in context!! You're absolutely right that out of context it's kind of meh. Even despite me adoring b5 I'm like, ok, I'm over it when it comes up. I'm very envious of you to have watched it for the first time 😍️
