Some discoveries lately.

I felt pretty ill toward the beginning of the month.

It was the weirdest thing. Fever and stomach pain - so bad that it woke me up in the middle of the night on two different occasions. The second time around, I kept staring at the ceiling and wondering if I should drive myself to the hospital.

After doing the rebound test and concluding it was not anything appendix-related, I decided to (try to) go back to sleep, and make a doctor appointment in the morning.

The doctor wasn't sure what was up. So in addition to some medication for the nausea, he ordered a blood test.

I've since concluded that I probably just had a stomach virus or something, because I feel better now. But the test (which I wasn't able to go in for until this week) did turn up something unexpected. My TSH levels are low, apparently. Not enough to be super worrying, but enough to warrant trying to adjust it.

He said that this can cause a whole bunch of issues, and then he listed off a ton of minor chronic problems that I've been dealing with for most of my life. The most important one is lack of energy - what do you mean it's not normal to be tired for no reason all the time? I thought I was just a delicate fucking flower who wasn't trying hard enough to have good sleep hygiene. (I have better sleep hygiene than anyone I am acquainted with offline. That's the joke.)

Anyway, uh... if these pills he prescribed me help even one of the minor-but-frustrating chronic bullshit issues, I'll be happy.

I hope that helps!

I have basically all the symptoms of low thyroid, so I hoped that that would actually be what was wrong and I could take something to improve it, but I've gotten tested twice and both times it's been on the low side but within normal range. :-/ So the mystery continues.

Oof, I'm glad the whatever-it-was has resolved itself (I swear, the number of times I've been like "something is terribly wrong with meeeee" and it the doctor's conclusion is "eh, probably a virus") Hopefully catching the low TSH will help with the minor stuff? I've been on thyroid meds since I was a teenager (perks? of being diabetic is they check all that stuff all the time) and I don't usually notice when they have to adjust my meds, but I know other people who see significant improvement. So I hope you continue to feel better!

As someone who no longer has a thyroid, I'm always here for people getting their TSH levels checked and better living through chemistry. <3
